Before choosing

Wet, dry
or both

All three options work. It depends on your dog and your routine.

Meat Lovers is complete food. On its own it covers the nutritional needs of an adult dog and can be given as the only ration with nothing added.

It is an important distinction: many wet foods on the market are complementary and should not make up more than a small share of the diet. This one is not.

As a guide, about 100 g of wet food per kilo of body weight a day, split into two meals. A 5 kg dog would need around five pouches a day on wet food alone.

If you combine it with dry food, remove about 25 g of kibble per 100 g pouch.

  • Chicken: the standard option, with no special needs
  • Turkey: lean meat, if they tend to gain weight
  • Lamb: hypoallergenic recipe with lamb and beef
  • Pork: an uncommon protein, where there is sensitisation to chicken or beef
  • Salmon: omega 3, for sensitive skin or a dull coat
  • Fish: with no meat at all, for multiple intolerances

Dry food has some mechanical scraping effect on the tooth that wet food lacks, but the real difference is smaller than usually claimed. The decisive factor in dental health is still brushing.

If it worries you, a mixed diet settles it without giving up the moisture of wet food.

How it looks in the bowl

A pâté texture, with meat and vegetables visible. No colourings to give it a shade it does not have.
