Complete food for medium- and large-breed puppies from 2 to 15–18 months, depending on their expected adult size. Large breeds take longer to finish developing their bones, so their growth period is longer.

Fresh chicken 40% (after extrusion), dried chicken 25%, brown rice 10%, peas 9% and GOOD + FEEL COMPLEX (11%): apple, linseed, blueberries, carrot, chamomile and prebiotics (FOS and MOS).

Composition according to the manufacturer’s technical sheet. Always check the packaging label.

The range Low Grain keeps brown rice as a carbohydrate source and excludes soya, wheat and maize. The range Grain Free removes all cereals. Low Grain is a good option if you are moving from a conventional diet and want a gradual transition, or if your dog tolerates rice well.

Practical guide

How to change food
without digestive discomfort

Your dog’s digestive system needs between seven and ten days to adjust to a new formula. An abrupt change often causes loose stools or food refusal.

  1. Days 1 – 2 25% Zen / 75% previous food

Mix one quarter Zen with the usual food. Check stools each morning.

  2. Days 3 – 4 50% Zen / 50% previous food

Half and half. If stools become loose, stay at this stage for two more days before progressing.

  3. Days 5 – 6 75% Zen / 25% previous food

By now, digestion should have settled completely.

  4. Day 7 onwards 100% Zen only

Transition complete. Digestion settles within two weeks; coat shine appears around the fourth week.

Frequently asked questions

Feeding a puppy

If your question is not answered here, write to us and we will reply within 24 hours.

Puppies have small stomachs and high energy expenditure, so divide their daily ration into several meals:

  • Up to 4 months: 4 meals per day
  • 4 to 8 months: 3 meals per day
  • From 8 months: 2 meals

Keep regular mealtimes: this helps toilet training and prevents anxious eating.

It depends on breed size, as some finish developing earlier than others:

  • Mini and small breeds: between 10 and 12 months
  • Medium breeds: between 12 and 14 months
  • Large and giant breeds: between 15 and 18 months

Switching too early in large breeds can affect joint development.

Low Grain keeps brown rice as a carbohydrate source and removes soya, wheat and maize, the cereals most associated with intolerances. Grain Free removes all cereals, using potatoes, peas or sweet potatoes instead.

Both ranges share the same formulation principle: fresh meat or fish at the top of the ingredient list, without unnecessary fillers.

It means that 40% is meat or fish before processing, not meal or derivatives. Fresh meat does not undergo high-temperature dehydration, so its essential amino acids remain intact and are better utilised by the body.

The total chicken or salmon percentage includes both the fresh and dehydrated portions.

Between 6 and 8 weeks if stored correctly. After that, fats begin to oxidise and the food loses palatability and nutritional value.

Use the bag’s own closure rather than transferring the food to another container. Keep it cool, dry and away from light, and do not mix a new bag with leftovers from the previous one.

Zen is distributed through specialist stores, veterinary clinics and authorised distributors. We do not sell online because choosing between twenty-one recipes depends on weight, age, activity and any intolerances, and that is best discussed face to face.
