Complete food for kittens from 2 to 12 months, and for pregnant or nursing females whose energy needs rise sharply. Formulated to support cognitive development and easy digestion.
76% total chicken, including 35% fresh chicken (after extrusion). 88% of protein is of animal origin. Brown rice as the main carbohydrate source, more digestible than white rice. With taurine, Omega 3 and 6, fibre and prebiotics.
Omega 3 fatty acids, particularly DHA, are structural components of brain tissue and the retina. In the first months, a kitten’s nervous system develops at a pace that will never be repeated, and this process depends on dietary intake.
The Zen commitment
Ingredients you can recognise
Every ingredient has a purpose

Cats are particularly reluctant to change foods: they may refuse the bowl as soon as they notice something different. Go more slowly than with a dog and never remove the previous food abruptly.
Mix the kibble well so your cat cannot separate it and eat only its usual food.
Half and half. If food is left in the bowl, extend this stage by two days.
By now your cat should accept the new flavour without hesitation.
Transition complete. Keep the water bowl away from the food bowl: cats drink more this way.

From 4 weeks, when weaning begins. At this stage, moisten the kibble with warm water to make a soft mash.
By 7 or 8 weeks, most kittens can eat dry food without moistening it.
A kitten has a tiny stomach and very high energy needs. The daily portion is usually divided into 4 or 5 small meals, or made freely available until 6 months.
Unlike dogs, cats tend to self-regulate well during growth.
At 12 months. If your cat is neutered earlier, ask your vet: switching sooner to a neutered-cat formula may help prevent the weight gain that follows the procedure.
Cats are obligate carnivores and, unlike dogs, cannot produce enough taurine themselves. They must obtain it from their diet.
A prolonged deficiency causes serious heart and retinal problems, some irreversible. That is why every Zen Cat recipe contains added taurine, and why cats should never be fed food formulated for dogs.
Zen is distributed through specialist stores, veterinary clinics and authorised distributors. We do not sell online because the right choice depends on your cat’s age, neutering status and any sensitivities.
